Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania Advocates Internet Privacy and Security Policy:

The privacy and security of our customers is important to Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania Advocates (“PPSPA”). We understand that visitors to the www.PPSPvotes.org Web site (“Site”) need to be in control of their personal information. Therefore, the following is the Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania Advocates Internet Privacy and Security Policy (“Privacy and Security Policy”) with respect to any personal information that we gather from you on the Site.

You are not required to give us any personal identifying information (i.e. name, e-mail address, physical address and any other unique identifying information) to visit our Site. If you choose not to provide personal identifying information, you can still visit the pages of the Site; however, for each visitor to a page on the Site, our web server will automatically recognize and store the visitor’s IP address/domain name combination. Your computer provides this information automatically each time you log on with us, unless you have activated certain blocking technology that may be available in some browsers.

We may collect personally identifying information about you only if it is specifically and knowingly provided to us by you. Personally identifying information collected will be used only in connection with the Site as set forth in this Privacy and Security Policy or for such other purposes as are described at the point of collection. If you provide us with personally identifying information, we may combine your IP Address/Domain Name combination with other personally identifying information you specifically and voluntarily provide us, but our policy is not to share personally identifying information with third parties other than as otherwise set forth herein, unless required by law, or unless explicitly requested by you. We recognize that your personally identifying information is valuable and we take all reasonable measures to protect your information while it is in our care and will use it only as we set forth in this Privacy and Security Policy.

We may use small text files called cookies to improve your overall site experience; however, these cookies are not used to track individual visitors to our Site. Data collected automatically during your visit to the Site is used for internal review to perform analysis of user behavior in order to measure customer interest in the various areas of our Site and may be used to improve or customize the Site content or layout and/or notify you, by e-mail, about new services and updates to our Site. The use of cookies is now a common operating procedure for most websites, however if you are uncomfortable with the use of cookies, most browsers now permit users to “opt-out” of receiving them.

We also use list servers to send out information and change notices to subscribed users of our Site and will, on occasion, send emails to visitors about our services when you have expressed an interest in them. When you register or receive email from us, you have the opportunity to “opt-out” and remove yourself from continued receipt of e-mails.

By submitting your information to us, you are consenting to the uses we describe above. If you do not consent to these uses, we suggest you “opt-out” where available, activate blocking technology if available in your browser, or choose not to submit your data.

What websites does this policy apply to?

This policy applies to www.PPSPvotes.org only. There are links on this site to other Web sites and this Privacy and Security Policy does not apply to any other Web site that has a link on our site. If you click on a link and leave our Site, you should check the privacy and/or security policy of that Web site.

What information about visitors do we gather and how do we use that information?

The information we learn from you helps us to personalize and continually improve the site. We gather the following types of information:

-Personal Identifying Information you give us

We receive and store any information you enter on our Site or give us in any other way. You can choose not to provide certain information, but then you may not be able to access all of the services offered through our Site. We use the information that you provide for such purposes as responding to your requests, improving our Site, and communicating with you.

-Automatic Transaction Information

We receive and store certain information whenever you interact with our Site. We use cookies to obtain certain types of information when your browser accesses our site such as IP Address/Domain name combination and your path through our Site. Certain browsers have the ability to allow you to visit websites anonymously; however you forfeit the personalization of the Site by enabling this technology.

Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer’s hard drive through your web browser to enable our system to recognize your browser and provide us with information such as your IP Address/Domain Name combination and where you visited on the Site. The ' help' portion of the toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. However, cookies allow you to take full advantage of our Site’s features.

-Email Communications

If you do not want to receive e-mail or other mail from us, you may choose to “opt-out” from email messages or send an e-mail to us.

Do we Share the Personally Identifying Information we Receive?

Information about our visitors is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling it to others; however, we will share personally identifying information only for the purposes set forth below:

-Agents

We employ other companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf. Examples include sending postal mail and email, removing repetitive information from customer lists, analyzing data, providing marketing assistance and providing customer service. They have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use it for other purposes.

-Business Transfers

As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy assets. In such transactions, customer information generally is one of the transferred business assets. Also, in the unlikely event that PPSPA or substantially all of its assets are acquired by another entity, visitor information will of course be one of the transferred assets.

-Protection of PPSPA and Others

We release visitor information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law; enforce or apply our General Terms and Conditions or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PPSPA, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection, situations involving threats or potential harm to the physical safety of another person or if required by law (such as if required by a subpoena, court order or other legal means).

-Aggregate Information

We may share certain demographic information with third-parties, but it will be in the form of aggregate information only.

How Secure is Information About Me?

The importance of security for all information associated with our visitors is of utmost concern to us. We exercise great care in providing secure transmission of your information from your PC to our servers. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your information, we can’t ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online services, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems. When information is transmitted, we use industry standard, SSL (secure socket layer) encryption.

By submitting your information to us, you are consenting to the uses we describe above. If you do not consent to these uses, we suggest you “opt-out” where available, activate blocking technology if available in your browser, or choose not to submit your data.

What Choices Do I Have?

-You can choose not to provide your personally identifying information to us or you may choose to not fill out any forms on the Site.

-Should you receive an unwanted email or direct mail piece from us, you have the option to “opt-out” of future emails or send an email to us to be removed from future direct mailings.

-If any communication you wish to send to us is very sensitive to you, you may want to send it by postal mail instead.

Conditions of Use, Notices, and Revisions

If you choose to visit any part of this Site, your visit and any dispute over privacy or security is subject to this notice and our General Terms and Conditions, including disclaimers of warranties and application of the law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

If you have any concern about privacy or security of any information discussed in this Privacy and Security Policy or other comments or questions about this Privacy and Security Policy, please write to us at Advocates@PPSP.org, and we will try to resolve it.

This Privacy and Security Policy and the General Terms and Conditions may change in accordance with the terms of the General Terms and Conditions, and use of information that we gather now is subject to this Privacy and Security Policy and the General Terms and Conditions in effect at the time of use.

If you have concerns, please check this Privacy and Security Policy and the General Terms and Conditions before submitting information to this Site.
